- Help client figure out how to do what they want to do (plan)

- Help client do what they plan to do (management)

1. Help client figure out what they want to do (decision)

The 3 basic model categories

- Brainstorm

- Prioritize

- Commitment

Third Category: Commitment to action items

Commitment models

- Toe in the water vs. all in

- Blind faith vs. throw mud on the wall and see what sticks

- Limited vs. unlimited time

- Private vs. public commitment

- Committed to trying vs. committed to winning

- Committed to making a plan of action as a first step

The nature of commitment

- Commitment is a step of faith

- Commitment is built on  prior commitments (the past)

- Commitment begins with the first step (the present)

- Commitment continues with the next step (the future)

Strengthening commitment

- Write it down

- Sign it

- Get witnesses

- Find people to hold you accountable

Why dealing with commitment is important:

- The kind of commitment your client makes for a plan of action sets an expectation for …

- Output

- Outcome
