Overview: This course introduces students to fundamental issues in apologetics (defending and contending for the faith). Students learn biblical worldview, cultural analysis, and presenting the gospel in a way that shows its plausibility and addresses common objections.Course Outcomes:
- Understand the role and limits of apologetics in Christian witness.
- State Christian truth accurately and persuasively in various situations.
- Address common objections to Christian belief.
- Interact sensitively with atheists, agnostics, and people of other religions.
- Develop a biblical worldview and sound epistemology in which Christian faith is real knowledge.
Assignments:
- Read the online articles for each unit. You may also save these articles to your own computer for further study.
- Listen to online video lectures. For some videos, there is also a corresponding article. Slides for each video are posted as a PDF file. If you wish, you may save each file on your computer and adapt the slides to use when you teach others.
- Use the discussion forum to ask questions and exchange ideas with others.
- Take the online quiz for each unit. You will have 60 minutes to answer 15 multiple-choice questions for each quiz. Once a quiz starts, you must finish it and can't retake it. So be ready ahead of time. Each quiz covers readings and video lectures for that unit. While taking the quiz, you may use your notes and refer to articles and other materials. Tip: First, answer all the questions you know. Then try to look up answers to questions you don't know. When you have entered an answer for every question, submit the quiz for grading before the 60-minute limit.

She is eager to spread the Word of God!
CLI student Almeta Albritton-Washington
I was raised in a Christian home were my parents were Pastors and have attended church my whole life. I was saved at a young age and was called to ministry very young. I grew up in a Christian based educated home where my father and oldest brother have many biblical degrees and I felt led to take an actual college level bible course. I know what I believe concerning my faith, but I would like to be equipped to convey or defend it with confidence.
I am currently serving at a local church in Boise, Idaho as Worship Pastor. I definitely believe in serving and teaching. I currently work full time teaching at the local Christian based daycare. I feel that God has given me this desire to teach children and adults and it is an awesome path leading me to be a better Christian, and a good mother one day. I am so excited to stay the course that the Father had set before me and continue growing.
I am just starting out at Christian Leaders Institute and am learning a lot already. I want to understand the bible better and learn how to serve those in need. I believe that the Christian Leaders Institute does a great job of this and has been a prayer and path for many to serve well as well as with confidence. I appreciate this opportunity. Thank you Christian Leaders Institute."
