PEACESMART EVANGELISM - THE 1221 PROJECT

Scripture references: John 13:34-35; Matt. 5:43-48; Isaiah 5:20; 1 Peter 3:8-9; 1 John 4:20-21; Romans 12:14-21; Eph. 6:12; John 15:20

1.         There is a spirit at work in the earth that seeks to divide, polarize, manipulate and dominate a culture.

2.         This spirit seeks to hinder your walk with Jesus Christ by deceiving you into treating people according to the opinions that they hold rather than according to God's kingdom principles.

3.         This spirit deceives us into placing our views on public policy and cultural issues ahead of who we are in Christ - thereby causing division in the Body of Christ.

4.         How we treat people is just as important, if not more important, as being "right” about the issues of the day. Jesus said the world would know His followers by how we love one another. John 13:34-35

5.         When it becomes more important to us to win an argument than to love the person we are arguing with . . . we are deceived! It is important how we treat those who oppose us. Matt. 5:43-48

6.         We are not called to compromise with or accommodate the culture by modifying Biblical standards in order to appease those who disagree with us. Isaiah 5:20

7.         As Ambassadors of Jesus Christ, Christians have a responsibility to treat their enemies the same way that Jesus Christ treated His enemies. Romans 5:8; 1 Peter 3:8-9; 1 John 4:20-21; Rom. 12:14-21

8.         The Father would have us overcome evil with good through prayer, love, blessing, and doing good to others.

9.          People who oppose us are not the real enemy. Eph. 6:12

10.       When we overcome evil with good, some will be won to the Lord, others will reject us. John 15:20

11.        1221 Projects are all around you - in the home - in the workplace - in the classroom, etc.
