Confront in Love - The Exposure/Confrontation of Sin


Scripture references: Matt. 18:15; Matt. 5:23-24; Matt. 18:16; Matt. 18:17; Galatians 6:1


1.         Jesus taught that whether someone sins against us or we sin against another, we are to go to them alone to confront the situation. Matthew 18:15; Matt. 5:23-24

2.         If an initial confrontation does not result in reconciliation, the Lord instructs us to take two or three others with us to try again. Matt. 18:16

3.         If a second confrontation does not result in reconciliation, the Lord instructs us to turn the matter over to the church. Matt. 18:17a

4.         When we confront a brother or sister, we are to go in a spirit of gentleness, remaining wary of temptation. Gal. 6:1

5.         Spending time with the Lord at the Peacefire prepares us for a loving confrontation that is Spirit led, rather than a hostile confrontation motivated by the flesh and the forces at work in the Wildfire.
