THE HEAT OF COMPETITION

Definition: The Heat of Competition is a moment in competitive conflict when team-organizational dysfunction places one or more relationships at-risk.

1.        When the Heat of Competition ignites in a congregation or ministry staff situation, someone is tempted to cross the line from being led by the Spirit to walking in the flesh.

2.        The Heat of Competition can damage relationships, reputations, and an individual's standing with the organization/leadership team/congregation.

3.        There are three relationship engines that exist in every organization, including churches and ministries.

4.        These relationship engines power the dynamics of the Heat of Competition.

5.        These engines are already running in your ministry or organization.

6.        When these relationship engines are fueled properly, they can drive your team to destinations of opportunity and blessing - even when the Heat of Competition ignites.

7.        When these relationship engines are improperly fueled, they can drive your team to destinations of dysfunction, frustration, despair, and failure.
