Discipling the People Within the Company: Polydeck Screen Corporation

•     Helping employees who accept Christ (e.g., orientation about the Christian faith, providing a Bible, connecting with local church, etc.)

•     Observing and modeling the Christ-like attitudes and behaviors demonstrated by their co-workers.

•     “I Caught You Caring” program 

•     Polydeck’s employees also grow as disciples of Jesus by discovering and using their God-given talents daily in their workplaces.

Discipling an Industry:
Wanamaker’s

•     John Wanamaker (1838-1922): “Father of Modern Advertising”

•     World’s first major department store (in Philadelphia, PA)

•      A store so complete and welcoming that people would not want to leave

•     Invented the price tag

•      He didn’t want people to worry about whether or not they were getting fair prices while they shopped.

•      He wanted his customers to be able to relax and feel welcome in his store.

•      Shifted the entire retail economy

•     Evangelism

•      Wanamaker hosted an evangelistic meeting in his store free-of-charge for D.L. Moody and donated the services of 300 ushers from among his own paid staff to assist with the event.

Discipling a Community:
Cohen Woodworking

•     Inc. 5000 company

•     CEO Phillip Cohen is Missouri’s 2017 SBA Entrepreneur of the Year

•     60% of employees are ex-convicts and/or former drug addicts.

•     “There’s no ‘program’ here.”

•     “We build lives … not just cabinets.”
