The Equipping Leader Notes: Remember that the goal is reproduction.  Train them to stand on their own rather than be dependent on you.

Apply Paul’s charge to Timothy (2 Tim 2:2)

  • Your job isn’t done until they become disciple makers
  • Focus your time and effort on the “reliable” ones

Give them responsibility, not just tasks

  • Allow them to become spiritual parents.
  • Guide them rather than doing things for them.

Be a good student, so you can be a good teacher.

  • Never stop learning (2 Timothy 2:15)
  • Ephesians 4:11-16- Learn from those God has gifted

Equip and release every member to minister (1 Cor 12).

  • See every part as CRITICAL 1 Cor 12: 23-25
  • Don’t overvalue the most gifted
  • Teach them to be givers rather than consumers- vs 7

  • Take newer disciples through Multiply
  • Choose 2-3 leaders who will in turn lead 2-3
