Confession of Faith

Henry Reyenga

Become a Believer

Romans. 10:9-10   that if you will confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  10 For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.  11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in him will not be disappointed.”

Scripture Survey of passages

Hebrews 3:1    Therefore, holy brothers, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, the apostle and high priest whom we confess. 2 He was faithful to the one who appointed him, just as Moses was faithful in all God’s house.

Confessions Have Fruits

2 Corinthians 9:12    This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God. 13 Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, men will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else. 14 And in their prayers for you their hearts will go out to you, because of the surpassing grace God has given you.

Helping People Hold to Their Confession

Hebrews. 4:13-15   There is no creature that is hidden from his sight, but all things are naked and laid open before the eyes of him with whom we have to do.  14 Having then a great high priest, who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold tightly to our confession15 For we don’t have a high priest who can’t be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but one who has been in all points tempted like we are, yet without sin.

Confession is a Fruit

Hebrews 13:15    Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that confess his name

Confession of Faith

1 Tim. 6:11   But you, man of God, flee these things, and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, and gentleness.  12 Fight the good fight of faith. Lay hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and you confessed the good confession in the sight of many witnesses.  13 I charge you before God, who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate testified the good confession,
