Session #4 Extraordinary Emotional Management Path
In ancient times to very recently, the last 100 years, lighthouses dotted coast lines around the globe. They are still used in some places today. Most have been replaced with new and better technology. Lighthouses created a safe pathway in the water’s ships plied throughout the world. New and better ways to make humans safe can be found in all the advances in how ocean shorelines and bodies of water are sounded.
Wouldn’t it be great to have a way to shape or sound the depth of an emotional pathway? Can we make or find a safe passage through the troubled waters of anger management?
There is such a pathway and that is what we’ll explore in this next session.
Attitudes as we discussed in session #2 are mental habits. For a long time, there have been riddles associated with the Alphabet. To focus on a subject, it’s easier as well as more enjoyable to be creative in the way you put emphasis on something of utmost importance. That is what this next exercise is about. In the seven column table below you will find all the letters in the Alphabet along with a number next to each. It is read down and across. You will need this table to do the exercise.

Attitude Awareness Scale
Please rate your current attitude. Read the statements carefully and circle the number where you feel you belong. If you circle a 10, you are saying your attitude could not be better on this area, if you circle a 1, you are saying it could not be worse. Be honest.
A the score of 90 or over is a signal that your attitude is “in tune” and no adjustments seem necessary; 70 to 90 indicates minor adjustments, 50 to 60 suggests a major adjustment- below 50 suggests a complete attitudinal overhaul.
When you use the Attitude Awareness Scale on a regular basis to check your attitude, it will change in increments over-time. It will continue to shift to positive more often. Negative feelings can creep into the most positive mindset, however, down cycles will not last as long as your body becomes more comfortable being managed with fewer attitudinal adjustment periods.
