Option A - If you started writing your essay before October 13th, 2023

Write a descriptive essay about the person who made the biggest impact on your life. Describe this person’s actions and character traits that influenced you, and describe some ways your life is different because of that person. Your essay should be 4-5 pages (1,000-1,300 words). Please write about someone you have known face-to-face. Don’t write about Jesus, a biblical character, a Christian celebrity, or a famous historical figure.

To upload your essay for grading, you must be a College student earning College credit. You must be enrolled in English 122 College Writing Lab and upload your essay there.

Option B - if you start writing your essay after October 13th, 2023

You should complete the first eight units of English 121 College Writing before writing and uploading this essay.

  • Write a descriptive essay about the concept of repentance in connection to an individual, a family, a community, a church, a civilization, a society, a town, a city, a country, or a nation (chose one of these). Describe the fruits of repentance that need to be present as evidence of repentance.
  • Do not focus in describing your personal experience. This is not a testimony.
  • Length of the essay: 4-5 pages (1,000-1,300 words) No less, no more.
  • Use good English: grammar, punctuation, spelling, redaction
  • Do some research, quote your sources and list your references. When you use sources, quote them in APA or Chicago style.
  • Please, avoid plagiarism - it is useless to copy others' thoughts. 
  • Use short sentences, clear paragraphs, grammar connectors.
  • Include title, introduction, body and conclusion. 
  • Be creative!
