Video Transcript: Persuasive Presenting - Presentation Skills - Public Speaking (Andrew Bryant)

Taking your presentation skills to the next level, we've addressed confidence with trust gesturing, we've addressed presentation packages, getting intentional, really connecting with the audience. But taking it to the next level is influencing or persuading the audience to a particular point of view. And to do that, you need to be very clear about what it is that you want to get across What is your key point or takeaway or action that you want the audience to accept from your presentation? So that's point 1, point 2 is what is important to that audience? What can you acknowledge or pace from that audience? So an example is, as you watch this video, I know that presentation skills are important to you. Realizing that presentation skills are important to you, I'm sure you understand that you need to watch this video more than once. Did you hear the influence? What was the takeaway, I want you to watch it more than once. Now, of course, if I was a late night, TV seller in the United States, I would have sold you my 24 CD pack for just 1.99. But that's not what I'm doing. I'm taking what is important to you, which is presentation skills and connecting it with just watch the video a second time. And the words allow us to connect, we're realizing that this is important to you.

I'm sure you understand that this is the obvious action, realizing awareness, this. So I'm sure you realize that as you listen to me, you're gonna become aware of the key points of influencing, persuading. Understanding that you do this, you might want to review the entire video series. See how it works. I'm connecting one idea or concept with an action using words like realizing, understanding. Then if you want to flow this even more effectively, you could say to your audience, naturally, you're curious about more information on presentation skills, understanding that hunger and need for information. I'm sure you want to review all of these videos. See how it connects? This is something you want to play with. What is it that they want? What is it you want? connect the two things together, and you've truly become a persuasive presenter. That is what you want, isn't it?
