What is free? What has fees? Why?

What is free and what has a fee is one of our most frequently asked questions. So, I want to bring some clarity on that. I have a little info graph here to show. 

So, what is free? First, our courses. All of the courses, both full and mini, are 100% free. That includes videos, lectures, reading material, textbooks, quizzes, and papers. All of that's within a course is completely free for you to take. So, those courses are free. And they are made available by the generosity of fellow students, organizations, churches, and Christians around the globe that see the importance of this free Christian online education being made available and completely free to anyone who has access to the internet.

Also another thing that is free is global recognition, if you choose, of your completed courses. So, we have a global directory where our graduates, who choose to have their names on there, have what they've completed and what they've done. That's something that might help you to show. Maybe you need to show someone even for a job possibility that, look, I've completed these courses and this training and gotten recognition in these areas. So, we do have global recognition. 

Also, unofficial downloadable transcripts and credentials. There are some ways that you can just download yourself, the courses that you've completed, and your transcript. Or anything that you've earned within the institute or the alliance, you can download an unofficial copy of it, and it would be all digital. So, that is a possibility that we make available to bless those of you that might want some sort of verification but cannot get the official. 

So, what has a fee? Our programs - the college and alliance and even programs within the institute. So, that would include if you wanted to, for example, get a college degree. We have an application fee for going through the standards of accreditation in order to enter into a degree program. We have a fee for the degree program itself because of all the extra administrative work and time that goes into providing the personalization of a degree program or even one of the alliance programs. So, those have some fees because you need to get into them. Now, we keep them low-cost and as affordable as possible. But there are some fees there because of the personalization that goes into those programs.

Also, if you want an official transcript sent to you or an official credential that you've earned in the institute, alliance, or college if you want that credential to be not just a downloadable unofficial version but you want it signed, sealed, and sent right to your address and area, then there is an administrative fee that goes into that. And you can purchase that within our Christian Leaders store.

And so, again, there are some fees that come into if you want that credibility recognition of the official paper, signed, all that kind of stuff. Our stamp is on there, all of it. There are some fees that come into play with that. But again, we keep them as low cost as possible.
