3. Sermon
Luke 4:16-20 (NIV) He went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom. He stood up to read, and the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. Unrolling it, he found the place where it is written: “The Spirit of the Lord is on me,    because he has anointed me   to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners   and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free,  to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” Then he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant and sat down.

4.    Between songs
Psalm 100:1-2  (NIV) Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness;  come before him with joyful songs.
Psalm 105:1-3 (NIV) Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name;  make known among the nations what he has done. Sing to him, sing praise to him;   tell of all his wonderful acts. Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice.

2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 (NIV) May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.

6.    Confession
Nehemiah 1:4-7 (NIV) When I heard these things, I sat down and wept. For some days I mourned and fasted and prayed before the God of heaven.  Then I said:
“Lord, the God of heaven, the great and awesome God, who keeps his covenant of love with those who love him and keep his commandments, let your ear be attentive and your eyes open to hear the prayer your servant is praying before you day and night for your servants, the people of Israel (our church)  I confess the sins we Israelites (our church members), including myself and my father’s family, have committed against you. We have acted very wickedly toward you. We have not obeyed the commands, decrees and laws you gave your servant Moses.”

7.    Assurance of pardon
Romans 8:31-39 (NIV)  What, then, shall we say in response to these things?
