Find a positive narrative about others.

Acts 9:27 But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles. He told them how Saul on his journey had seen the Lord and that the Lord had spoken to him, and how in Damascus he had preached fearlessly in the name of Jesus. 


Become the recognizer of positive traits and accomplishments and open door for others. 

Point out people’s good traits to others behind their backs and in front of them. 

Introductions and greetings are opportunities. 

Proverbs 27:2   Let another praise you, and not your own mouth; someone else, and not your own lips. 

Learn the Spiritual discipline of encouragement


If an encouraging thought comes to mind, share it! It may not have the same effect if you wait. Don't let shyness hold you back. Instead, form a new habit. 

"Encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today…" Hebrews 3:13


Offer Prayer and Help.


When people need help and prayer, be available.

2 Corinthians 9:2 For I know your eagerness to help, and I have been boasting about it to the Macedonians, telling them that since last year you in Achaia were ready to give; and your enthusiasm has stirred most of them to action.  


Send Facebook, Email, Snail Mail Encouragement.


Romans 15:13  May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. 

Eating Together and Talking. 


Acts 20:7  On the first day of the week we came together to break bread. Paul spoke to the people and, because he intended to leave the next day, kept on talking until midnight.


Bible Study or Fellowships; Just Show Up. 


Hebrews 10:25   Let us not give up the habit of meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another-and all the more as we see the Day approaching.



Encourage change (in a good way).


2 Peter 3:18   But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen. 


Physical Attention - Hugs and Visitations and “God Be With You Till We Meet Again."


Acts 20:36-38     When he had said this, he knelt down with all of them and prayed.   They all wept as they embraced him and kissed him.  What grieved them most was his statement that they would never see his face again. Then they accompanied him to the ship.
