Introduction
Finance sometimes sounds like something necessary but perhaps a bit boring. But financial stewardship was really a key part of what Jesus did during the three years of His earthly ministry. He helped people use their resources and assets towards benefiting the entire community, in the hopes of drawing the community closer to Christ. Recall the parable of the talents (Matthew 25: 14-30), just as those in the parable grew the wealth given to them by Jesus, and Jesus said in verse 29, "For to everyone who has will more be given, and he will have an abundance." But, the abundance given to us we must steward in a Christ-like manner, advancing the cause of the Kingdom, above any other priority. If you are a leader, a pastor, a Christian business leader, then you need the principles discussed in this course.
The Bible is a rich resource for how to manage people. This course uses Bible stories, examples from Jesus' ministry, and the whole book of Philemon. This small book of the Bible contains the letter that the Apostle Paul wrote to a fellow church member named Philemon. In this letter Paul demonstrates how you deal tactfully with a difficult relationship issue.
